Is a lab-grown diamond a real diamond?
A lab grown diamond is a full fledged diamond. It has the same physical, chemical and optical properties of traditional diamonds because in the lab we can create the same conditions we can find in nature. Its distinctive features are the same as traditional diamonds: color, clarity, carat and cut and it is certified by IGI, the International Gemological Institute.
How are lab-grown diamonds sustainable?
Lab-grown diamonds are sustainable because they significantly reduce the environmental impact and they are socially responsible. The lab growth prevents in depth mine digging with a 95% reduction of the water consumption, a 54% reduction of the energy consumption and a 96% reduction of CO2* emissions. The process is completely traceable and it respects both human rights and safety conditions of workers.
How are lab-grown diamonds are made?
The lab-grown diamonds we use for our jewels are lab-created, starting from a diamond fragment, through two methods. The first one, HPHT, replicates the high pressure and high temperature conditions that happen in nature in thousands of years. The second one, CVD, allows the diamond to grow thanks to the deposition of substances that are at the basis of its molecular structure. Their combined action creates a raw diamond exactly as in nature, but in full respect of the environment and labour conditions
Where do the diamonds we use come from?
The production sites of Live Diamond precious are located in Asia, mainly India and Thailand, and the United States. The providers hold the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme, which supports the integrity of the diamond supply chain. Also we favor RJC (Responsible Jewellery Council) certified providers .
